*As of Sunday, August 30, 2015
Today as I organized my new mama work bag (a Nike duffle I scored at the outlet), I came across a personal artifact that takes me back in time to exactly two years ago (August 30, 2013). The artifact–an After Visit Summary from Kaiser (my then healthcare provider) pertaining to my wife and I’s visit to the infertility doctor*. One of the many intentional steps we took to start our family.
All I can gather myself to write is…WOAH…that’s a mind trip! And a tangible reminder of how far we’ve come in our journey to live our dreams :: one of which was (check!) to expand our family of 2.5 and become mommies.
Fast forward another year later (August 30, 2014) and my educational research position at Mills College ended, a little more than 3.5 months prior to welcoming a healthy baby girl–Jaylin Jackson–earthside. Jaylin, who is now 9.5 months old, arrived on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at 12:16 pm at our home in Berkeley, CA after a marathon labor of almost 64 hours (more on the birth story coming soon as I have a few versions in the works).
A year later and it’s August 30, 2015! And I’m preparing to birth my next baby, Mama J. Love :: Inspiring a Lovelution ♥ Love. Justice. Freedom
Coincidence? Fate? Serendipity? Intentional living or more likely a mixture of them all?
To this, I step into my power with a fierce: yes, Yes, YES!! The universe is on my side as my Mama Sabbatical™ (the transformational white space) comes to a close. So it’s with courageously bold love that I introduce my latest venture to love…serve…change the world :: Mama J. Love’s Mama’s Musings Blog.
UP NEXT :: What the Heck is a Mama Sabbatical™?!
*As a same-sex married couple in CA, we automatically qualified for infertility services through our healthcare provider. Yes, a privilege that I do not take lightly.
